Editorial Masthead

Meet the fictional newsroom behind NewsHBO 24/7 and the desks they run.

Every name below is fictional. The people on this masthead were created for NewsHBO 24/7's illustrative launch edition, and their bylines are labelled fictional bylines. No real journalist, critic or editor is represented, and none of them works for any studio, network or streamer.

Editorial Desks

  • Maya Sterling, Chief Industry Analyst: business analysis, strategy and the long view on television and film.
  • Kit Vance, TV Reporter: series television, showrunners and scheduling.
  • Marcus Chen, Box Office Editor: release strategy and how to read the weekend numbers.
  • Sarah Al-Mansoor, Streaming Editor: platform deals, ad tiers and release calendars.
  • Arthur Vance, Chief Film Critic: reviews and critical essays.
  • Elena Rostova, Senior Film Critic and Desk Editor: criticism and desk oversight.
  • Julian Thorne, Screenwriting Editor: the craft and economics of writing for screens.
  • Liam O'Connor, Music and Sound Editor: scores, sound design and audio storytelling.
  • Dana Lin, Festivals Correspondent: line-ups, premieres and festival politics.
  • Sam Albright, Awards and Casting Reporter: casting news and awards-season coverage.

Planned Audio

Julian Vance is our fictional audio host for planned shows that do not yet exist: The Golden Hour Show, Writers Room Uncut and Festival Diary Daily. They are ideas, not products. There are no episodes, no players and no release dates.

How the Desks Work

Reporters file to their desk editor, and stories that make claims about people or money get a second read before they publish. The Desk Editor role exists so that someone other than the author is asking, "How do we know this?" Our standards are set out in the Code of Journalistic Ethics, and mistakes are handled under Corrections & Updates.

A Note on Bylines

A fictional byline is a label, not a person who can be reached or held to account for real-world reporting. If you want to discuss a story, write to [email protected] and the whole newsroom, such as it is, will see it.

If this project grows beyond a demo, we will replace this page with real staff, real roles and real contact points, and we will say clearly what changed.

Independence

NewsHBO 24/7 is independent and not affiliated with HBO or any studio, network or streaming service.
