Corrections & Updates

How we fix mistakes, how we label changes, and how to report an error.

Everyone who publishes gets things wrong sometimes. What matters is how fast we notice, how clearly we say so, and whether the fix is easy to find. This page explains our approach.

Our Promise

  • We correct factual errors as soon as we verify them.
  • We say what changed instead of quietly editing.
  • We do not delete an article to hide a mistake.
  • We keep the tone factual, without defensiveness.

Three Kinds of Change

  • Correction: a factual error, such as a wrong name, title or date. A note explains what was wrong and what is right.
  • Clarification: the facts were correct but the wording could mislead. We add context and flag it.
  • Update: new information has arrived since publication. We mark what was added and why.

Typos and style fixes that do not change meaning are made without a note.

How to Report an Error

Email [email protected] with the headline, the sentence in question, what you believe is wrong, and a link or source if you have one. A short, specific message is far easier to act on than a general complaint.

Because this is a demo site, there is no automated ticketing system. Messages open in your email app and are handled by hand, if at all, so please keep a copy of what you send.

A Note on the Fiction

Every person, show, film and company in this launch edition is fictional. A "correction" about an invented detail is an editorial change within that fictional world. If you spot a real-world name that slipped in, however, that is a serious error, and we want to hear about it at once.

What We Will Not Change

We do not alter a story simply because a subject dislikes it. Disagreement about a critic's opinion is not an error. We will, however, consider a right of reply where a person is criticised and has not been heard.

Where Corrections Appear

When live reporting exists, corrections will be noted at the top or bottom of the affected article, with a plain description. Our broader approach to verification is described in the Fact-Checking Policy and the Code of Journalistic Ethics.
