Cookie & Storage Preferences

What the demo version stores in your browser, key by key, and how to clear it.

This page lists what NewsHBO 24/7 keeps in your browser. We do not set advertising or analytics cookies. The site uses localStorage, a small store that lives on your device and is not sent to us with your requests.

The Keys We Use

  • saved: the stories you bookmark, so they are still there next visit.
  • theme: your light or dark display preference.
  • newsletter: a preview signup for The Morning Call Sheet, stored only in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.
  • poll and react: none. The site does not store poll answers or reactions.

What We Do Not Store

  • No login tokens, because no accounts exist.
  • No advertising identifiers.
  • No analytics identifiers.
  • No payment or financial data.

Third-Party Loads

Your browser requests fonts from Google Fonts and styling from the Tailwind CDN. Those requests go to the providers' servers and are covered by their policies, not ours. They are not used for advertising on our behalf.

How to Clear Your Data

Open your browser's site settings, find NewsHBO 24/7, and clear stored data. This will remove saved stories, your theme preference and any newsletter preview signup. You can also use a private window, which discards storage when you close it.

What Happens If You Block Storage

The site still works. Saved stories and the theme choice will simply not persist between visits, and the newsletter preview may not remember you.

Why No Banner?

Because we set no advertising or analytics cookies, there is nothing to consent to beyond the storage described here. If that changes, we will add a real choice before any new tracking begins and update this page.

For the Technically Curious

localStorage is a simple key-and-value store built into your browser. Each website gets its own private space, and other sites cannot read ours. Unlike a cookie, its contents are not attached automatically to every request, so the values listed above are read by the page on your own device and are not sent to a server. You can inspect them yourself in your browser's developer tools under the storage section, and you can delete any single key without affecting the others.
