Several disturbing details have emerged following the murder of pregnant Rebecca Park, whose body was found in late November 2025.
Park, who was only weeks away from her due date, was last seen on Nov. 3 after leaving her mother’s home. After weeks of trying to locate her, Park’s body was discovered in a Michigan forest on Nov. 25. But, there was no sign of her baby, and an autopsy showed that she was no longer pregnant.
The next day, Park’s sister and fiancé — Kimberly Park and Richard Falor — were arrested and later arraigned on several charges, only to be released on bail days later. Then, Park’s mother and stepfather, Cortney and Bradly Bartholomew, were arrested and charged with her murder on Dec. 1. During their courtroom appearance the next day, prosecutors claimed that Park’s mother cut her unborn child out of her womb.
“This is, frankly, evil personified,” Wexford County Prosecutor Johanna Carey told the judge, calling it a “case of premeditated torture and murder,” alleging that the pair “created a plan” and “conducted research.”
Probable cause affidavits reviewed by PEOPLE show that Cortney initially denied any involvement but later allegedly confessed to cutting out the fetus and made additional explosive claims — including that Bradly said he was the baby’s father.
So, what happened to Rebecca Park? Here’s everything to know about the pregnant woman’s alleged murder by her mother.

Park went missing after leaving her mother’s home just before midnight on Nov. 3.
At the time, her fiancé told 9&10 News that Park — his partner of more than two years — was last seen entering the passenger seat of a car at her mother’s house in Boon Township. Falor said Park told her mom, “Hold on. I got somebody to pick me up. This is just something I’ve got to do. I’m sorry.”
Shortly after she was reported missing, search efforts began with an added sense of urgency given that she was 38 weeks pregnant at the time.
She was found dead in late November 2025, just three days after she was due to give birth
After a weeks-long search to locate the missing mother-to-be, a body matching the description of Park was discovered on Nov. 25, as a spokesperson for the Michigan State Police told PEOPLE.
Her phone had been found near her mother’s house, while her body was discovered in Manistee National Forest, the police said.
The discovery came just days after Park was due to give birth on Nov. 18. An autopsy revealed that she was no longer pregnant when she was found.
“The Wexford County Sheriff’s Office, along with multiple law enforcement agencies, is working diligently to determine the condition and potential whereabouts of the baby,” Wexford County Sheriff Trent Taylor said in a statement at the time.
There were allegedly several affairs going on between the family members

Probable cause affidavits and criminal complaints filed in a Michigan court and obtained by PEOPLE show that Park, her mom and her sister were all allegedly involved with the same man.
Kimberly and Cortney both told investigators that they were in a relationship with Park’s fiancé, Falor, per the probable cause affidavit.
Meanwhile, another affidavit showed that Cortney allegedly told police that the father of the baby was Bradly, who is her husband and Park’s stepfather. “Brad said it was his,” Cortney allegedly told officials.
Prosecutors claimed that Park’s mom cut her daughter’s unborn child out of her womb

During Cortney and Bradly’s hearing on Dec. 2, prosecutors shared several gruesome details about Park’s death, including the disturbing fate of her unborn child.
Prosecutors claimed that Park was still alive while her mom, Cortney, allegedly cut her unborn child out of her womb.
“Mr. Bartholomew brought Rebecca to their home, [he and Cortney] forced her into another vehicle and took her into the woods where they stabbed her, forced her to lie on the ground while they cut her baby out, and ultimately caused her death and the death of the baby,” Carey said in court. “They then left Rebecca in the woods.”
Cortney had attempted to maintain her innocence by posting a Facebook video (which features only a black screen with audio) on the day her daughter was due to give birth, captioned, “My alibi of where I was the night my daughter came up missing.”
“She gave me my meds at about 8:40, I don’t remember a lot as I just said, but she was there when I went to bed and she was also there when I woke up the next day,” her 14-year-old son said in the video. “I know that she never goes out and about when I’m sleeping just because she doesn’t like to drive at night.”
Cortney eventually allegedly confessed to cutting the unborn baby out of Park’s womb
After weeks of denying any role in Park’s murder, Cortney reportedly changed her account once investigators told her that cell phone data placed her at the location where Park’s body was found on the night of the killing.
Per a copy of the probable cause affidavit reviewed by PEOPLE, Cortney ultimately confessed during her second interview with the Wexford County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) that she had cut the unborn baby out of her daughter’s womb.
She allegedly told investigators that she used a scalpel to remove the fetus and claimed her intention was to save the child and give the baby to Park’s fiancé.
She had previously told police that it was Bradly who killed Park as a form of retaliation against Falor, who allegedly reported Bradly for violating a condition of his release as a convicted sex offender. Bradly previously received a 180-day sentence for an unspecified violation related to his being on the sex offender registry, as shown by court records obtained by PEOPLE.
Per the affidavit, she claimed that it was Bradly who murdered Park, alleging that he had forced her into a car and stabbed her several times before she began to cut Park’s unborn child from her womb. Cortney told police the baby was not breathing after being cut out.
“When she cut the baby out, Cortney said that Rebecca was still conscious and Bradly was holding the knife to her throat,” the affidavit stated. Cortney said Park’s body was then pushed down an embankment and covered with leaves, and that the fetus was placed in a cooler, then a trash bag, before being thrown into a dumpster.
Bradly allegedly told authorities that the entire operation was masterminded by Cortney, who he said was motivated by her desire for more children, per the affidavit. Bradly said that he and his wife could not adopt because he was a sex offender.
Park’s mom and stepfather face several charges in her death

After Park’s remains were found, Kimberly and Falor were both arrested and booked into Wexford County Jail on Nov. 26. At the time, it was not clear whether their arrests were related to Park’s case.
Kimberly was later arraigned on charges of tampering with evidence, lying to a police officer and filing a false report, per records obtained by PEOPLE. She is currently on house arrest after being released on Dec. 3, after posting bail, which was reduced from $750,000 to $5,000.
Meanwhile, Falor was arraigned on two counts of delivering methamphetamine, as records showed, with a bail set at $1 million. He was also released on Dec. 3, after his bail was also reduced to $5,000.
Two days earlier, the Michigan Department of Attorney General announced that Cortney and Bradly had been arraigned in connection with Park’s murder.
They now face several charges, including one count each of first-degree murder, felony murder, torture, conspiracy to commit torture, assault on a pregnant individual causing miscarriage/stillbirth and conspiracy to commit assault on a pregnant individual causing miscarriage/stillbirth — all of which carry a possible life sentence in prison.
The pair were also charged with one count each of unlawful imprisonment and removal of a dead body. They are being held without bail at the Wexford County Jail.
