Will she or won’t she? Fans aren’t the only ones wondering whether Carrie Underwood will re-up for a second season of American Idol. Sources tell Star producers are also wondering about the 42-year-old’s future on the show — despite the “Before He Cheats” singer’s sometimes rough time as a judge on the singing competition.
“She’s not sure she wants to do another season,” an insider says of the mom of two (she shares Isaiah, 10, and Jacob, 6, with NHL vet Mike Fisher). “She’s let bosses know she’s not 100 percent sure.”

The country star — and 2005 Idol winner — has been candid about struggling with balancing work and motherhood. “You feel guilty about every single thing, every decision you make, everything you do,” she once confessed.
The insider says producers accommodated the Grammy winner’s request to have family time while shooting. “That was a huge perk for her.”

Still, the fact that Carrie was reportedly paid half of the $25 million her predecessor Katy Perry raked doesn’t sit well with the “Cowboy Casanova” singer, says the insider. “There’s talk Carrie wants more money. It’s been a bumpy ride and she’s not sure it’s worth the pain without a nice incentive.”
