Kamalani is a Hawaii-based right-handed softball pitcher. She graduated from Kamehameha Kapalama High School, where she served as team captain and ace pitcher while winning three Division I conference titles.

Dung enrolled at Fresno State before transferring to UC Berkeley in 2017 to pursue a sociology major.

Apparently, Kamalani went to visit Angels Stadium in 2018 during her junior year and posted a slew of pictures with Los Angeles Angels players including Shohei Ohtani, Kike Hernandez, René Rivera, and Martin Maldonado. However, the snaps with Ohtani seem to have been the highlight, with even absurd link-up rumors doing the rounds.

During her junior year, Kamalani achieved ranks through the top 10 in all pitching categories in PAC 12. During her senior year, she led the Golden Bears to their first top-25 victories over No. 21 James Madison University. Kamalani currently plays professionally in the Athletes Unlimited Professional Sports League in the US

Gold medal-winning softball pitcher Kamalani Dung, who took the internet by storm after posing with Shohei Ohtani at Angels Stadium, is dating Hawaii-based musician Dillon Pakele.
