Quids in for the ICE agent who killed Renee Good in Minneapolis the other week – he’s set to become a millionaire after a whole bunch of online fundraisers were set up for him.
Jonathan Ross, 43, shot Good, a 37-year-old mum-of-three and US citizen, because he ‘feared for his life’ as she attempted to drive away from him. This has lead to widespread outrage and protests around the US.
I guess Ross has a lot of Americans on side because they’re falling over themselves to send him money, with one GoFundMe page alone raising over $750,000 (£559,000).

The guy who set up the GoFundMe, Clyde Emmons, described Good as a ‘domestic terrorist’ and said he feels the shooting was ‘1000 percent justified’ and that the officer ‘deserves’ a fundraiser. Are some Americans really this perverse or what?
Another $280,000 (£210,000) has been raised through a GiveSendGo page, which described Ross as a ‘patriot.’ It states the money will go to ‘our ICE hero’s personal costs, family protection, and anything else related to this righteous act of duty.’
Well, I suppose he does need to be able to afford some enhanced level of security now his photos and details have been plastered far and wide. But that wouldn’t be the case if he hadn’t completely unnecessarily shot an unarmed woman in the face, would it?
In fact he might even be safer in prison? Although he’s unlikely to even face charges as the Department of Justice has reportedly not opened a probe into the incident.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe set up to support Good’s widow and children has raised around $1.5 million, so the situation isn’t completely bleak.
In fact that’s plenty of money for Renee Good’s family to sue Ross; perhaps even for the million+ that he’ll make off these fundraisers?
Earlier this week, US officials claim Agent Ross suffered ‘internal bleeding’ as a result of Good’s car bumping into him.
