The couple will be heading on a very special visit.
Kensington Palace has announced a very special upcoming engagement for Prince William and Princess Catherine. Next week, the Prince and Princess of Wales will head north to visit Stirling and Falkirk and shine a spotlight on unique Scottish heritage traditions.
The couple, who are known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay and the Lord and Lady of the Isles when in Scotland, will be travelling for the engagement on Tuesday, January 20.
During their time there, William and Catherine will learn how classic heritage traditions continue to bring communities together and inspire new generations.

As they kick off their visit, the couple’s first stop will be to the National Curling Academy in Stirling, where they will meet with Team GB and Paralympic GB Curling teams, ahead of the winter Olympic Games and winter Paralympic Games, which will be held in Milano-Cortina between February and March.
Interestingly, curling traces its origins back to 16th-century Scotland and remains one of the most popular winter sports.
And it wouldn’t be a normal engagement without the Prince and the Princess of Wales going head to head in a competition. After hearing about the team’s training regimes, the sporty duo will have the opportunity to participate in a curling game on the ice.

Another exciting stop on the couple’s trip north will be a visit to Radical Weavers, a handweaving studio in Stirling.
Established in 2019, the organisation helps to tackle social isolation and support people affected by trauma and loss by offering the opportunity to learn traditional Scottish tartan-weaving skills.
The visit will be an exciting moment for the Princess, in particular, as she has long been a passionate supporter of the UK textiles industry and can even trace her roots back to when her father’s side of the family ran Leeds-based woollen manufacturer, William Lupton & Co.
