The kidnapping and murder of a Ukrainian youth in Bali, Indonesia, is attracting significant attention in the global media.
The kidnapping and murder of Igor Komarov, son of Ukrainian “kingpin” Oleksandr “Narik” Petrovsky, is becoming more horrifying than ever with the release of a disturbing blackmail video. The video shows the 28-year-old tourist, bruised and severely injured, desperately pleading for his life before parts of his body are found washed ashore on the Bali coast.
“Mother, mother, I beg you, please save me.”
In the $10 million blackmail video, Komarov appears bruised and exhausted, reading a prepared statement. With a trembling voice, he pleads with his mother: “Mom, Mom, I beg you, please save me. We stole the $10 million they’re demanding. Please give them back the $10 million. Please.”

The victim’s image is shown in the video sent to the family by the kidnappers.
The pleas in the video also revealed the extent of the brutality inflicted on the victim by the kidnappers. Komarov spoke in despair about the physical harm the criminals had caused him. This video subsequently raised questions about the involvement of organized crime groups in the area.

His family was blackmailed for $10 million.
The abduction occurred on February 15th while Komarov was riding his motorcycle with a friend in Jimbaran – a popular coastal area in Bali with Russian and Ukrainian citizens. A group of men suddenly appeared “out of nowhere” in a military-style operation with an escort of vehicles, quickly subduing and arresting Komarov. His friend managed to escape and alert the police.
Authorities believe Komarov’s location was inadvertently revealed through images shared on Instagram by his girlfriend, influencer Yeva Mishalova, particularly a Valentine’s Day post.
Following the video’s appearance, police found a severed head and other body parts washed ashore at the mouth of the Wos River, on the east coast of Bali. Based on distinctive tattoos and skull features typical of a white person, investigators initially confirmed a match with Komarov. At a villa in Tabanan, police also found bloodstains, a phone, and the victim’s bag, indicating he had been held captive and assaulted there.
Currently, Bali police have arrested one suspect who used a fake passport to rent a vehicle and identified six other foreign suspects. Four of these suspects have been identified as having fled Bali via the international airport, while the remaining two are believed to still be at large in Indonesia. All six have been placed on Interpol’s wanted list, and the group has issued a “Red Notice” for a global search.
