Romanucci & Blandin, the law firm representing Good’s family, revealed the preliminary findings Wednesday.

WASHINGTON — The early findings of an independent autopsy of Renee Good have been released.
Romanucci & Blandin, the law firm representing Good’s family, revealed the preliminary findings Wednesday. The report found that Good, who was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis earlier this month, had three clear gunshot wounds and a fourth graze wound in her body.
The report said Good’s body had one gunshot wound in the left forearm, causing soft tissue hemorrhage, a second one in the right breast without penetration of major organs and a third gunshot wound that entered the left side of her head near the temple and exited the right side of her head. Additionally, she had a fourth wound, which was described as a “graze wound” in the report, that did not penetrate but was consistent with firearm injury.
Officials noted that the breast and forearm wounds were not immediately life-threatening.
The results of the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office autopsy have not yet been to the public or the legal team, the law firm said.
“We believe the evidence we are gathering and will continue to gather in our investigation will suffice to prove our case. The video evidence depicting the events of Jan. 7, 2026, is clear, particularly when viewed through the standards of reasonable policing and totality of circumstances,” the lead attorney, Antonio M. Romanucci, said in a statement. “Additionally, our legal team will continue its unwavering and proactive advocacy for Renee’s life and her family.”
Good’s family hired the Chicago law firm Romanucci & Blandin last week to represent them. The law firm is the same one that represented George Floyd’s family.
Good was reportedly acting as a legal observer of Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids in Minneapolis when she died, but the circumstances that led to her death have been contested by local and federal authorities.
The Department of Homeland Security claimed she attempted to drive her vehicle into ICE agents. One of those agents, Jonathan Ross, reported that he feared for his life and shot her dead.
Videos of the scene and incident were posted online. Some Minneapolis city leaders believe the videos challenge the DHS claims.
