The identity of the man who died in the horrific Frontier Airlines engine crash has been officially revealed.

On May 12, Dr. Sterling McLaren, chief medical examiner in Denver, Colorado, stated that the victim was Michael Mott, 41 years old. He died from multiple injuries caused by blunt and sharp objects from the aircraft engine.
Dr. McLaren concluded that Mr. Mott’s death was a suicide based on a review of the entire investigation.

The horrific incident, captured on camera, occurred at Denver International Airport on the evening of May 8th, when Mr. Mott was seen walking across the runway as a Frontier Airlines flight was taking off.
Audio recordings from air traffic control revealed that controllers reported seeing human body parts on the runway. Later, an official confirmed the victim had been sucked into the aircraft’s engine.
Airport security cameras also captured the moment Mr. Mott crossed the runway before being struck by the plane.

Phil Washington, the chief operating officer of Denver International Airport, said that Mott climbed over a barbed wire fence approximately 2.4 meters high at 11:13 p.m. (local time) and was struck by the plane just two minutes later.
The collision caused the engine to catch fire, forcing passengers to evacuate the aircraft urgently. At the time, Frontier Airlines Flight 4245 was carrying 231 passengers, including crew, en route to Los Angeles.
Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas acknowledged that this is an incredibly difficult and painful situation for many people.
He said authorities are looking for clues such as suicide notes, computers, or anything similar, trying to determine the places Mr. Mott had recently visited.

Police Chief Thomas also stated that authorities found no vehicles or bicycles near the airport that could indicate how Mr. Mott got there.
On the airport’s side, Phil Washington affirmed that they would study improvements to prevent similar incidents from happening again. He added that the airport had previously apprehended individuals who attempted to breach the security fence.
The incident left at least 12 people injured after smoke filled the aircraft cabin and passengers were evacuated using emergency slides. Washington said five people were taken to the hospital for treatment, and four of them have since been discharged.
According to the New York Post , Mott has been arrested more than 20 times in Colorado since 2002, including on charges of attempted murder.
Public judicial records show that from the age of 17, Mott was repeatedly arrested for minor offenses such as petty theft and underage drinking, but within a few years, he became a dangerous violent criminal.
In February 2005, he was arrested by police for attempted murder with a firearm. In that case, he pleaded guilty to second-degree assault causing serious injury with a dangerous weapon and was sentenced to six years in prison. While in prison, he was again charged with aggravated assault with a weapon.
