The flight from New York City was just one hour away from its destination when the passenger started raving and firing off violent threats, fellow flyers said.

“We hear this person in the back screaming, yelling, ‘No! No! No!’ And […] ‘I can’t get off the plane!’” passenger Gerry Sutofsky told CBS News.

“According to the people who came on the plane, he was threatening – he said there was a bomb.”

The furious passenger also reportedly said, “I’m going to blow up the plane” and “kill you all,” according to traveler Margaret Weinstock.

“He was ready to attack the flight attendants,” she told reporters.

The plane had to make an emergency landing after 11am in Detroit, Michigan, where officers quickly rushed into the cabin brandishing massive guns.

Terrifying video taken from inside the flight showed passengers putting their heads down and raising their arms at the officers’ request as the disruptive passenger was removed.

The rest of the cabin was then evacuated and put on an emergency bus that was driven through the tarmac.

Eventually, they were all given a new flight after spending hours desperately waiting for answers.

The passengers didn’t arrive in Chicago until 7pm.

“I’m exhausted, and I’m upset,” said Esther Sutofsky.

“We were just sitting there not knowing anything, hour after hour.”

The FBI said it is investigating the incident, but insisted there’s no danger to the public.
