Breaking: Elena Moore’s cause of d3ath has been revealed, and investigators say it may be linked to someone who was part of her daily life

THE autopsy results for the personal trainer who was found dead in a wooded area have been revealed days after she vanished from a gym in South Carolina.

Elena Moore, 39, was found on Wednesday underneath a bridge nearly a week after she was last seen leaving a Planet Fitness.

The personal trainer was seen signing in to a Planet Fitness in Lexington, South Carolina, where she frequently worked out, around 6:40pm on June 11.

Moore, who was reported missing on June 12, was later captured on surveillance cameras walking across the parking lot of a nearby Publix at 9:17pm.

She was dressed in an olive-green hoodie and black athletic pants and was spotted heading toward a wooded area behind a Lowe’s.

A massive search effort was launched for the woman, and the Lexington Police Department said on Wednesday they had discovered the body of a woman with a clothing description matching Moore’s.

The body was positively identified as Moore by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office on Friday.

The autopsy performed on Saturday did not “identify an immediate cause of death,” the Lexington County Coroner’s Office said on Monday afternoon.

The coroner did not find any evidence of traumatic injury on Moore’s body, including no bruising, gunshot wounds, stab wounds, blunt force trauma, strangulation, lacerations or any other external injuries.

A cause of death remains pending, officials confirmed.

“Additional evaluation is required, including histological studies, review of medical records, and toxicology testing,” the coroner’s office said.

Additional information about a cause and manner of death will be released after all further studies are finished.

Moore was found near the Fourteen Mile Creek Trail by Old Cherokee Road and North Lake Drive, roughly a half mile from the Publix parking lot.

Her body was discovered underneath a concrete bridge after authorities searched the wooded area when following up on a tip.

She was sleeping somewhere, and she was eating somewhere,” Joe Tonsing, a Lexington resident who lives near where the body was found, told ABC affiliate WACH.

After the discovery, the state’s largest crime unit, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, confirmed they were assisting in the investigation.

Speculation about her disappearance was raised after Moore’s friends said her behavior was “out of character.”

Sondra Rachelle Campbell, a close friend of Moore’s, told NewsNation that she believes there was foul play involved.

Investigators said on Tuesday, the day before Moore’s body was found, that they did not suspect foul play and said her husband, Brannon Slice, was “not a person of interest at the current moment.”

Campbell also raised concerns about Moore’s marriage, claiming “There has been issues. They were trying to separate.”

She also shut down theories that Moore was struggling with her mental health and took her own life.

“I think my friend was struggling for her life. I think she was literally afraid for her life,” Campbell said.

Campbell shared the same concerns in an interview with Fox News, telling the outlet, “I think my friend was struggling for her life. I think she was literally afraid for her life.”

Lauren Beasley, another friend of Moore’s, told Fox News that Moore had not been active on her social media in the weeks before her disappearance, which she said was unlike her.

“She is very active on social media so her going radio [silence] for the last month is out of character,” Beasley said.

Moore appeared to be acting confused a week before her disappearance when she was seen in a Ring camera video obtained by The U.S. Sun allegedly pretending to be a DoorDash delivery driver.

Sarah Burleson said Moore was acting bizarrely outside of her apartment and said she appeared “confused” as she tried entering her unit.

Moore allegedly met with a DoorDash delivery woman dropping off a food order, taking the plastic to-go bag from the worker before delivering the food herself to Burleson’s partner.
