Defendant Gerhardt Konig testified that a heated argument with his wife Arielle escalated during a hike after she brought up traveling with a co-worker, which he said shocked him as they had never fully addressed her alleged affair. The disagreement intensified, leading to a physical struggle on the ground, during which he claimed she grabbed him in his private area and struck him with a rock. He said he acted instinctively to defend himself, wrestled the rock away, and struck her on the side of the head.
