Bali police have just announced new developments in the shocking case involving Ukrainian tourist Igor Komarov.
According to the investigation, Komarov was abducted on February 15 while riding his motorcycle in the Jimbaran area of Badung district, Bali. Witnesses and investigative data indicate that the abduction was carried out by multiple people using various means of transportation. Investigators believe this was a well-organized operation.
The attackers reportedly intercepted Komarov while he was traveling and forced him into a car. The victim was then taken to a luxury villa in Tabanan, located in the central western region of Bali, according to Asianetnews .
During the search, authorities discovered numerous bloodstains, which were later confirmed to match Komarov’s DNA. Additionally, police found a phone and a bag believed to belong to the victim. These clues led officials to believe that Komarov may have been held captive at the villa after being kidnapped.
In connection with the case, Indonesian police have identified up to seven suspects, including one foreigner with the initials CH and six others with the initials RM, BK, AS, VN, SM, and DH.
According to the investigation, CH was arrested in West Nusa Tenggara and is believed to have rented the vehicle involved in the kidnapping, using a fake Belgian passport during the rental process. However, authorities believe he was not directly involved in the kidnapping.
Four suspects are believed to have left Bali via the island’s international airport, while the others may still be at large in Indonesia. All have now been placed on Indonesia’s wanted list, and police have issued an Interpol red notice to coordinate an international search.

At the time of the incident, Komarov was traveling in Bali with his girlfriend, Yesa Mishalova, a social media influencer with nearly 200,000 followers on Instagram.
Just one day before the kidnapping, the couple posted a photo together on Valentine’s Day with the caption: “14 February, love you everyday.”
Later, Yesa posted another story showing her breaking down in tears in front of the camera. In the video, she wrote: “I will be back when I have the strength.” Investigators believe that such posts may inadvertently reveal their location.
However, there has been no official confirmation that the criminal group used social media to track the couple. Yesa’s Instagram account has now stopped posting content and has disabled comments.
According to several Russian and Ukrainian media sources, Komarov is believed to be the son of Sergei Komarov, a prominent figure in the criminal underworld of Kramatorsk.
The incident quickly attracted international attention when a video circulated online showing Komarov appearing with multiple injuries and pleading with his family to send $10 million in ransom. By February 26th, body parts were discovered near the mouth of the Wos River, on Ketewel beach.
According to Senior Police Commissioner Ariasandy of the Bali Police, forensic experts collected six biological samples from body parts, including molars, clavicle, femur fragments, ribs, toe bones, and a portion of the tibia.
According to a Daily Mail report , investigators initially estimated there was an 80% chance the body parts belonged to Igor Komarov, but further testing was needed to confirm this definitively.
The condition of the body made identification difficult due to the onset of decomposition.
These samples were quickly analyzed at the police forensic laboratory in Jakarta. The results were then compared with DNA samples provided by the Komarov family and showed a match with the victim’s mother’s DNA.
“Based on DNA test results, these body parts match the victim,” said Ariasandy.
