Police have declared the suspicious disappearance of South Australian woman Trisha Graf a major crime as they continue to search for her.
The suspicious disappearance of South Australian woman Trisha Graf has now been declared a major crime by police.
Detectives have intensified their effort to find the mother of two who was last seen alive three weeks ago in a remote part of South Australia, about 560km north of Adelaide, that is sweltering through an extreme heatwave with temperatures of 40C.
Ms Graf was last seen leaving the Roxby Downs hotel with a friend shortly after 12.19am on December 12.
Ms Graf and her friend continued to Andamooka and visited a home in the northwest area of the town.
She left just before 2am and travelled a short distance to her own home, and was last seen driving along Dunstan Drive.
Missing woman Trisha Graf was at a Roxby Downs hotel and left shortly after midnight on December 12.
Ms Graf’s partner and her friend began searching for her just after midday on December 12.
They found her car perched on a dirt mount near Blue Dam, east of Andamooka.
The Ford Territory had damage consistent with the collision with a kangaroo, but could not be driven because of its location on the dirt mound.
Police, the SES and community members conducted a ground and aerial search, covering a 4.7km radius of the abandoned vehicle, while police divers searched the dam, but did not locate Ms Graf.
Further searches involving police from the Far North, Port Augusta, Missing Persons Section and Polair have also failed to find any trace of the missing woman.
Police, the SES and community members searched for Trisha Graf after her car was found abandoned at Blue Dam, but have failed to find the missing woman.
Major Crime officer in charge Darren Fielke said police held grave concerns for Ms Graf’s welfare.
“Since Trisha was last seen there have been significant investigations and several detailed, thorough searches conducted in an effort to locate her,’’ he said.“Her thongs were found with her vehicle and we would have expected to locate her if she had simply wandered off a short distance.
“Taking this step in the investigation will allow more specialist resources to be committed to both determine what has happened to Trisha and locate her.
“We are still seeking information from people who were with Trisha at the Roxby Downs Hotel shortly before her disappearance and those who saw her after she returned to Andamooka.”
Police are hoping to speak with people who were with Trisha Graf at the Roxby Downs hotel shortly before she disappeared and people who saw her return to Andamooka.
