NEW YORK CITY β What initially appeared to be a series of random and terrifying assaults has taken a darker, more calculated turn. Police say they have uncovered the true motive behind four separate attacks on a New York City mother of three β and it was anything but random.
The victim, a 35-year-old woman whose name is being withheld for safety reasons, was targeted multiple times while traveling to a nearby rest stop β a routine part of her daily life that quickly became a source of fear.
According to authorities, the attacks followed a disturbing pattern.
Each time, a masked man would ambush her without warning, striking quickly before vanishing. Despite increased patrols and growing concern in the area, the suspect managed to evade capture through all four incidents, leaving both the victim and the community on edge.
βShe was being hunted,β one investigator said. βThis wasnβt chance. This was deliberate.β
A Breakthrough in the Investigation
