Investigators hoped a glove found a couple miles from Nancy Guthrie’s Tucson home last month would provide clues to her abductor. The glove appeared similar to those worn by the masked man seen on Nancy’s doorbell camera video.
However, DNA testing confirmed the glove belongs to a restaurant employee who works nearby. The mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie has been missing since February 1.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told local outlet KVOA a DNA match was found on one of the gloves. “We believed wholeheartedly that those gloves belonged to a restaurant and guess what? The owner of the glove, we found working at a restaurant across the street. It has nothing to do with the case.”
DNA from other gloves in the area is currently being tested in Florida, according to KVOA. The sheriff says the mixed DNA is making testing more challenging.
Many clues are being investigated. In late February, a couple living 2.5 miles from Nancy released new footage that FOX News acquired. In it, a car speeds by at about 2:36 a.m. on February 1. According to the sheriff’s estimates, this was approximately eight minutes after Nancy’s pacemaker last synced with her iPhone.
In video messages, the Guthries plead with the kidnappers to return their mother. In a February 24 video, Savannah announced her family is offering a $1 million reward for information leading to Nancy’s recovery. The FBI is also putting up a $100,000 reward. In addition, the Guthrie family is donating $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Arizona’s Pima County Sheriff’s office is working with the local FBI on this case.
The suspect on the doorbell video is “a male, approximately 5’9” – 5’10” tall, with an average build. In the video, he is wearing a black, 25-liter ‘Ozark Trail Hiker Pack’ backpack.”
“We feel the love and prayers from our neighbors, from the Tucson community and from around the country,” Savannah Guthrie wrote after the visit.

The desperate search for Nancy Guthrie is in its second month, and the sheriff leading the investigation believes they are “definitely closer” to finding a suspect or suspects in her disappearance.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said in an interview that aired Tuesday on NBC’s Today show, “I think that investigators are definitely closer. We’ve got a lot of intel, a lot of leads, but now it’s time to just go to work.”
To mark one month since their mother’s disappearance, Savannah Guthrie, her sister, Annie Guthrie, and Savannah’s brother-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, visited the growing tribute of yellow flowers, cards and messages left outside of Nancy Guthrie’s home in Tucson, Ariz., on Monday.
“We feel the love and prayers from our neighbors, from the Tucson community and from around the country 💛,” Savannah Guthrie wrote on Instagram after the visit, along with a photo of the flowers. “please don’t stop praying and hoping with us. bring her home.”
The family of Nancy Guthrie, 84, is offering $1 million for information leading to her “recovery.”
Savannah Guthrie announced the reward last week in an Instagram video, saying the family is holding out hope that Nancy Guthrie is found alive.
“We still believe in a miracle. We still believe that she can come home,” the Today show cohost said. “We also know that she may be lost. She may already be gone.”
“If this is what is to be, then we will all accept it,” Savannah Guthrie added. “But we need to know where she is.”
Nancy Guthrie was last seen at around 9:45 p.m. on Jan. 31, when she was dropped off at her home in the Catalina Foothills north of Tucson, Ariz., by family members following dinner, police said. She was reported missing around noon the next day after she did not show up at a friend’s house to watch an online church service.
Authorities are still waiting on results from an analysis of partial DNA recovered from Nancy Guthrie’s home. Investigators are also reviewing doorbell camera footage outside of her home of a masked man who the FBI said was “armed,” as well as video of a speeding car around the time of her abduction and a backpack possibly bought online.

EVERY YEAR ON OUR ANNIVERSARY, MY HUSBAND MADE A TOAST ABOUT THE WOMAN HE “ALMOST MARRIED.” THE YEAR MY SON ASKED ME WHY I WAS ALWAYS SECOND, I STOPPED SMILING
Every June 12th, my husband raised a glass and told the same story. It didn’t matter if we were at home, in a restaurant, or surrounded by twenty relatives in my in-laws’ backyard. He would stand up, clear his throat like he was about to give a speech worth remembering, and say: —“You know… if […]
