WASHINGTON (TNND) — Newly obtained videos reveal Alex Pretti in a confrontation with federal officers in Minneapolis just 11 days before his death.

The footage, acquired exclusively by the News Movement, shows Pretti with a gun spitting on a federal agent and kicks a taillight of a federal vehicle.
Former U.S. Attorney John Fishwick shared his legal insight on the situation, stating, “I think he could have been charged with two crimes. One is when he spit towards the federal ICE agents. You know, that’s assaulting a federal officer. And also when he kicked that taillight off, that’s the destruction of federal property.”
Fishwick questioned why Pretti was not arrested at the scene, noting that agents had probable cause. He emphasized the need for an independent investigation to ensure public confidence, suggesting the FBI as the appropriate body to conduct it. He added, “Any time you bring a gun into a situation where it’s a high-stress sort of protest… you’re adding much more stress and volatility to a situation.” The incident, captured during the filming of a documentary, is now under scrutiny as new evidence emerges.
