Just when you thought the brazen acts of the married music teacher who raped a 12-year-old boy couldn’t get any worse, disturbing new details have now emerged: ‘Lil bro’

The music teacher who had a baby with the 13-year-old boy she repeatedly raped got her young victim to befriend her toddler son, and took the two children out together.

Naomi Tekea Craig, 33, was a married mother of one teaching at an Anglican school in Mandurah, 70km south of Perth, in October 2024 when she began sexually abusing the student, then just 12.

The abuse and rape – which included penetrating the child – continued for more than a year before Craig was arrested and charged in December.

She gave birth to his child on January 8, and on Tuesday, she pleaded guilty to multiple counts of sexual abuse of a child, possessing child exploitation material, indecent dealings with a child and sexual penetration of a child.

Daily Mail can now reveal that days before the sexual abuse began, Craig encouraged her victim to form a close bond with her son.

Disturbing video footage seen by the Daily Mail, shows the schoolboy, then 12, sat at a small toddler table beside Craig’s pre-school age child as they coloured in together.

The pair appeared relaxed and familiar, happily swapping crayons in what appears to be a doctor’s waiting room, with the boy calling his teacher’s son ‘little bro’.

Craig was initially charged in December and it has been alleged that the abuse continued until her arrest.

Police say DNA tests confirm the teenage victim is the father of Craig’s child, who was born less than three weeks before she confessed in court on Tuesday

Craig appeared in Mandurah Local Court via audio link to admit all 15 child abuse-related charges.

Last week, the Daily Mail revealed the now-13-year-old victim provided a DNA sample to investigators, but he already claimed to know the baby was his.

Earlier in January, he wrote on social media there was ‘No DNA test needed’, and raised the possibility of a baby boy taking after him.

After court on Tuesday, Craig’s husband broke cover and dropped their older son off at her parents’ home.

Craig is prohibited from seeing anyone under 18, including her eldest child, without supervision, with her newborn the only exception to the strict court order.

According to the school’s website, Craig was often praised in newsletters for her active role in choir and music performances.

In one newsletter from October 2024, she was pictured on the school’s website working with children between five and 12 at the ‘battle of the band rock concert’.

In the photo, she held a microphone on stage with primary school students while smiling and wearing a Nirvana t-shirt knotted at the waist.

A Christian prayer could be seen on a projector on the wall above the stage.

Following her arrest, the principal of Frederick Irwin Anglican School, Tracey Gray sent a letter to parents and carers confirming the alleged victim was not a current student at the school.

‘I regret to inform you that a teacher from our school has been arrested by police and charged with child-related offences,’ Ms Gray wrote.

‘The teacher has been instructed not to attend the school.

‘The information available to the school suggests that there is no need for any concern for any children at the school.’

In court, Magistrate Clare Cullen read the charges aloud, which included multiple counts of penetration of a child under 13, and after his birthday, sexual penetration of a child over 13 and under 16.

Further charges included additional counts of indecent dealings with a child under 13, and possessing child exploitation material.

Twelve incidents occurred in Silver Sands, Mandurah, and three in nearby Meadow Springs.

To each charge, Craig replied: ‘Guilty, your honour.’

Craig’s relationship with the boy began on October 31, 2024, and ended on December 16, just days before her arrest.

She was represented by top Perth lawyer, Reid Hogan.

The magistrate said: ‘You’ve pleaded guilty to all charges and they’re being expedited to the District Court for what’s called a sentence mention listing.’

Craig must attend court in person when her matter is up in the District Court on March 27.

To make bail, she was personally required to front $20,000, plus an additional $50,000 in surety.

Her bail will continue until the next mention.
