Some of those tips have led investigators across the southeast, from Texas to Florida and Georgia.

While the case has moved into a “lengthy” phase, the Enterprise Police Chief says searches will not be scaled back.

Genesis’s mother, Adrienne Reid, is currently being held in the Coffee County Jail on a $1 million cash-only bond. She is facing one count of false reporting to law enforcement agencies, a Class C Felony.

A vigil would be held on Friday, February 20, at Bates Memorial Stadium on East Watts Avenue. The vigil is set to start at 7:00 p.m., and gates open at 6:30 p.m.

Police are searching for a toddler who was reported missing from her Alabama home.

Genesis Nova Reid was reported missing by her mother after she was not found in her bed at her home on Apache Drive in Enterprise, and the front door was open, the Enterprise Police Department said in a bulletin on Monday, Feb. 16, where they initially misspelled her name.

Police originally said the girl is 3 years old, but later corrected themselves, stating she is 2 years old, according to WTVY. She is expected to turn 3 in March, ABC affiliate WDHN reported.

Authorities said in a news release on Tuesday, Feb. 17, that the 2-year-old was reported missing around 3 a.m. local time on Monday. She was wearing pink Minnie Mouse pajamas.

“According to investigators, the child’s mother told police she went to check on Genesis and discovered she was not in the home,” the department added.

But as the investigation has progressed, “detectives conducted multiple interviews and determined the child had not been seen in several weeks,” police continued.

Neighbors previously claimed that they had not seen the toddler in several weeks, WTVY reported.

One neighbor alleged they noticed Genesis and her mom had stopped their routine walks on Apache Drive a few weeks ago, according to WDHN. A second neighbor said she has not seen Genesis, who used to play outside with her child, since Christmas.

A third neighbor, Tyler McGowan, claimed to the outlet that he saw Genesis’ mother alone at a store on Valentine’s Day. But when he asked her about her daughter’s whereabouts, she allegedly only replied with “I don’t know” and walked away.

Officials said Tuesday that Genesis’s mom, Adrienne Reid, is being detained for questioning as they are looking for a woman named Moriah, a Black female who frequented Levels Bar and Grille on Daleville Avenue in Enterprise, as well as areas in Ozark.

Reid has not been named as a person of interest or a suspect, nor has she been formally accused of wrongdoing.

“Police said if Moriah, or anyone who knows her, has any information or connection to Genesis or the child’s mother, they should contact authorities immediately,” the department continued. “The missing child’s father and other relatives are cooperating fully with the investigation.”
