A newlywed couple who survived a crash that killed four people have been left with life-changing injuries and forced to live apart as both need 24-hour care.
Georgina Daniels, 28, and husband Tom, 29, were riding home in a taxi with two friends in the early hours of January 11, 2026, when their vehicle had a head-on collision with another car.
Masrob Ali, 54, the driver of the cab – a Citroen C4 Picasso – died in the accident, along with three teenagers from the other car, a red Seat Leon.
The deceased teens were named by Greater Manchester Police as Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, 18, Farhan Patel, 18 and Mohammed Danyaal, 19, while an 18-year-old male from the same car reportedly remains in hospital with ‘minor injuries’.
The tragic crash happened just seven months after Georgina and Tom tied the knot, although they had been together for more than ten years.
The couple have been left in ‘unbearable’ pain and with life-altering injuries, with both requiring 24-hour care ‘for a long time’ to come, Georgina said.
Tom, a sales manager, has ‘major mobility issues’ and struggles using stairs.
As a result, the newlyweds’ injuries are so severe that they will have to live apart for the foreseeable future.

Georgina, an NHS manager, cannot believe they survived the devastating crash.
‘I can’t fathom how we’re all still alive – it should have taken our lives,’ she told the Manchester Evening News from her hospital bed.
‘I have no idea how we’re all still here after seeing what happened to everyone and the state we are all in.’
The couple were out that fateful evening to say their goodbyes to two friends who were about to emigrate to Australia.
The pair have so far had four surgeries between them – but Georgina says the mental side of processing the smash has proved even harder than the physical injuries.
Georgina says that while Tom’s memory is hazy about the crash, she has full recall of what happened and remembers it ‘as if it was ten minutes ago’.
A fundraiser has now been launched on GoFundMe to raise money for Georgina, Tom and their two friends who were also riding in the taxi, who do not wished to be named.
The appeal, which has so far raised more than £40,000, is intended to help cover expenses while the couple are unable to work and ‘relieve some of the additional pressure on their families, allowing them to focus entirely on healing’.

The driver of the taxi, Masrob Ali, was pronounced dead at the scene, along with the three teenagers travelling in the other car.
An estimated 600 mourners travelled from across the UK, including London, Manchester, Bolton and Birmingham, to attend Masrob’s funeral prayers on Wednesday.
The service was held at the larger mosque rather than Masrob’s local place of worship, Masjid al-Momineen, due to the sheer number of people expected to attend.
Masrob’s body was carried into covered in a Muslim shroud. His wife and children were present and later walked the short distance back to the family home following the service.
A private burial was scheduled to take place at Pleasington Cemetery at 3pm that day.
The day after the crash, Detective Inspector Andrew Page, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: ‘We are still in the early stages of our investigation and work is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this terrible incident.
‘As an investigation team we would encourage people to be mindful of sharing footage on social media given the impact this will have on all the families involved in such a tragic incident.
‘Sharing such footage could constitute a criminal offence. Thanks to patrols in the area, teams were able to get to the incident location quickly to what was a particularly challenging scene for colleagues in the emergency services.
‘I want to thank first responders from our Bolton district and the Road Policing Unit, alongside colleagues from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and the North West Ambulance Service for their hard work since this incident.
‘The scene closed on Sunday evening, but we are still appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
‘Anyone who saw the vehicle driving before the collision, witnessed the incident itself, or has dashcam/ CCTV footage of the incident can share it with us.’
