Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly purchased a home in Portugal “to be close to” Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, it has been claimed.

News of the couple’s European home comes just a year and a half after they were evicted from their Windsor-based property, Frogmore Cottage.

Despite their ongoing feud with the Royal Family, Meghan and Harry are said to be “extremely friendly” with Eugenie and Jack.

Speaking of Meghan and Harry’s likely reasoning behind the purchase, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk: “They Eugenie and Jack] moved into Frogmore when the Sussexes vacated it, Eugenie and Jack visited them in California and they reportedly holidayed with them in Portugal too. Now they have brought a house in Portugal where Eugenie and Jack live as he works there and they are likely to see more of each other.”

Discussing potential visits to the UK, he added: “Also this gives the Sussexes a foothold in the EU and a base near Britain. We expected Harry to visit Britain periodically as he has cases against the media pending as well as his case against the Home Office on security and presumably will surely wish to see his father whilst he fights illness, despite recent confusion as to whether this was or was not possible.

“Will their next “faux royal” tour be to a European country following their successes in Nigeria and Colombia? How long before we see photos of Archie and Lilibet enjoying the Portuguese sun with their parents, and possibly even one day with Eugenie, Jack and their family?”
