Savannah Guthrie and her siblings released a new video on Saturday, directed at the suspected kidnappers of their mother, Nancy, who has been missing for nearly a week.
“We received your message, and we understand,” Savannah Guthrie said in the new video. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”
Nancy Guthrie was reported missing at midday on Sunday, after being dropped off at her Tucson-area home on Saturday evening.
Authorities say that they believe she had been taken against her will, and said that blood marks found on the porch of her home matched her DNA, while a security camera had been unplugged.
The FBI had been examining suspected ransom notes sent to TMZ and KOLD-TV, a Tucson station. The station reported on Friday receiving “a new message from someone claiming to be the suspect who allegedly kidnapped Nancy Guthrie.” The station sent the message to law enforcement, but did not release details.
Authorities released a statement on Friday saying, “The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department are aware of a new message regarding Nancy Guthrie. Investigators are actively inspecting the information provided in the message for its authenticity.”
“The PCSD said everyone is still asked to call 88-CRIME or 1-800-CALL-FBI with any information, photos, or videos connected to the case. The FBI said a $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie or an arrest in the case.”
Earlier this week, Savannah Guthrie and her siblings had released a video that called for their mother’s return. “We want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen. Please reach out to us,” Guthrie said.
The sheriff of Pima County, AZ, Chris Nanos, has said that Nancy Guthrie is in need of lifesaving medication.
