“EXCLUSIVE: Rare photos of a young Kate as a bridesmaid at her uncle’s wedding in 1991 — how different does she look compared to today?”

The Princess of Wales’s trademark smile, poise, and kindness have made her one of the Royal Family’s most well-liked members – but it appears Kate Middleton has always had these qualities in spades.

‘Delightful’ footage of Kate, then nine, as a beaming bridesmaid at her uncle Gary Goldsmith’s 1991 nuptials has left royal fans delighted after it was posted on X ahead of her 44th birthday.

The nearly eight-minute clip from Mr Goldsmith’s wedding to Miranda Foote was first released in 2017 – six years after Kate married Prince William.

The video, first obtained by SWNS, showed Kate and her younger sister, Pippa, dressed in matching pink bridesmaids’ dresses and floral crowns as they joined the wedding party outside St Peter’s Church in Burnham, Bucks.

The youngest Middleton sibling James was not left out as the three-year-old took on the role of a page boy as the trio accompanied Gary and Miranda – who have since divorced – down the aisle.

While his wedding day was full of laughter and joy, Gary – who is the younger brother of Kate’s mother Carole Middleton – was branded the family’s ‘black sheep’ following a series of scandals and even a criminal conviction for assaulting his fourth wife.

The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant pleaded guilty to one count of assault after he knocked Julie-Ann Brown to the ground during a drunken fight outside their house when she accused him of taking drugs.

Years before his conviction, however, the Middleton clan’s ‘Uncle G’ was getting ready to exchange vows with Miranda as his adorable nieces, Kate and Pippa, joined the wedding party as bridesmaids.

A short section of the clip showed Kate receiving a present from the groom as a token of appreciation, as fans on X/Twitter noted her ‘beautiful smile, natural poise, and graceful mannerism are instantly recognisable’ even at a young age.

The caption read: ‘On January 9th, The Princess of Wales turns 44.

‘This delightful footage from 1991 shows a nine-year-old Catherine Middleton as an adorable bridesmaid at her uncle Gary Goldsmith’s wedding.

‘Her beautiful smile, natural poise, and graceful mannerisms are instantly recognisable.’

Other X users agreed Kate was ‘destined to be a Queen’ while some noted the resemblance between Pippa and Princess Charlotte, the 10-year-old daughter of Prince William and Kate.

The clip began with footage of Pippa, then seven, joining Kate, the bride, and her older bridesmaids ahead of the ceremony.

While Kate wore a big smile, Pippa seemed rather reluctant to take her place in the queue as she was seen idly playing with a flower crown while walking towards her older sister slowly.

The youngest Middleton sibling James was also dapper in his morning suit as the three-year-old beamed in photos alongside the groomsmen.

But he was soon distracted as the footage showed the blonde-haired page boy running around guests, before tugging at his mother Carole’s blue dress and nearly bumping into the photographer’s tripod.

As the bride and groom leave the church after the ceremony, Kate was filmed excitedly practising what would become her royal wave and taking turns posing for photographs with the happy couple.

By this time, however, it’s all getting a bit much for Pippa, who looks irritated as she pulls the floral crown off her head.

At the reception, the adorable flower girls were given gifts by the groom, who sweetly planted kisses on Kate and Pippa’s cheeks, to thank them for fulfilling their duties.

Commenting on Kate’s behaviour, one X user wrote: ‘Lovely child grew into a lovely kind woman and she still retains a humbleness about her.’

Another said: ‘She knows how to carry herself.’

One person felt Kate was ‘definitely born to be a royal’ while another noted she ‘definitely got that royal wave from early on’.

A similar comment read she was ‘a little girl born to be a princess’ while another person added that ‘young Catherine’ was always ‘destined to become a Queen’.

One fan compared Pippa to her now-10-year-old niece, Princess Charlotte, while another felt that Louis takes after his mother, Kate.

It comes ahead of the Princess’s 44th birthday on Friday, January 9 – nearly one year after Kate confirmed she was in remission from an undisclosed cancer.

For her first solo engagement after completing a preventative course of chemotherapy, the mother-of-three made a deeply emotional visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London where she received her own cancer treatment.

She thanked hospital staff for their ‘exceptional care, support, and compassion’ during her 12-month cancer journey and exchanged heartfelt stories with patients in a remarkable gesture of solidarity.

For the occasion, Kate picked a brown Blaze Milano plaid coat that she repurposed for the royal family’s annual Christmas outing at Sandringham at the end of the year in a poignant sartorial choice.

It appeared that Britain’s future Queen was closing one chapter and beginning another, as she looks to the future after her health battles.
