The man is believed to have gone into the River Teifi in Cardigan

The search for a missing man believed to have gone into a river in Ceredigion is entering its fourth day.

Rescue teams first scoured the area near the River Teifi, Cardigan, after reports the man had gone into the water at Castle Street at 05:15 GMT on Sunday.

On Wednesday evening, Dyfed-Powys Police said the man had still not been found despite extensive searches, with the operation to resume on Wednesday.

Officers have said the family of the man they believe to have entered the water are being supported.

A helicopter, drone and boat crew have been involved in the search, along with crews from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service and HM Coastguard.

An RNLI team was also deployed.
