Woods is seen hiccuping and wiping his nose in the newly released footage
Tiger Woods sat with a sheet around him and dealt with hiccups while in police custody after he was charged with a DUI, new bodycam footage obtained by PEOPLE shows.
In newly released footage from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, reviewed by PEOPLE on Thursday, April 2, Woods, 50, is seen entering the police vehicle handcuffed and wearing a sheet over his head as an officer drives him away from the scene of his rollover accident in Jupiter Island, Fla.
Woods — who is facing charges of DUI with property damage, careless driving and refusal to submit to a lawful test — spends most of the ride looking out the car window, occasionally wiping his nose, yawning and hiccuping.

Separate footage released on Thursday by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office shows Woods interacting with officers at the scene and participating in field sobriety tests before his arrest. The golfer, who announced on March 31 that he is “stepping away” to seek treatment, is seen telling officers he “looked down at my phone, and boom,” when asked how the crash happened.

After officers searched his pockets and found two loose pills, Woods is seen in the footage telling them the pills are “Norco,” which could refer to a prescription opioid that combines hydrocodone and acetaminophen. The police affidavit, obtained by PEOPLE on Tuesday, stated that the pills were hydrocodone.
As he’s being handcuffed in the video, Woods asked, “I’m being arrested?” while a police office tells him, “At this time, I do believe your normal faculties are impaired.”
Woods announced his decision to seek treatment in a statement on Tuesday, his first since the crash.
“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” Woods said in the statement posted on X on Tuesday, March 31. “I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.”
“I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally,” Woods continued. “I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”
