The Today show host’s 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, hasn’t been seen since Jan. 31
Authorities have released new images and video of an armed subject in connection with the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie.
The images show a person with a mask over their face wearing gloves, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said in a post on X, adding that the person appears to have tampered with the camera at the victim’s front door.
“Working with our partners — as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance,” the statement read.

FBI Director Kash Patel, on his X feed, posted images and two videos of the individual.
“Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie‘s home that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors, including the removal of recording devices,” said FBI Phoenix Public Affairs Officer Brooke Brennan in a statement shared with PEOPLE.
“The video was recovered from residual data located in backend systems,” the statement continued.
Nancy was last seen at her longtime home in Tucson, Ariz., after being dropped off by her family at 9:48 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31.
The mother of three is believed to have been kidnapped in the early morning hours of Sunday, Feb. 1, authorities said.

Nancy’s family reported her missing at 12:15 p.m. on Feb. 1, when she missed church.
Law enforcement launched a massive investigation into her disappearance, with Nanos saying at a Feb. 3 press conference that authorities believe she was taken against her will.
A trail of what appeared to be blood was seen on the front steps of Nancy’s home and authorities later confirmed it was hers.
Potential kidnappers sent alleged ransom notes tied to Nancy’s disappearance to several media outlets.
On Wednesday, Feb. 4, the Today show host, 54, and her two siblings made an emotional plea to the potential kidnapper or kidnappers in a video posted on Instagram asking for proof of life.
The alleged kidnappers set an initial deadline for 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, and a second deadline for 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9 — in which they demanded the family pay $6 million in bitcoin.
As of Monday evening, it was unclear if any payment had been made as the FBI did not disclose that information in a statement provided to PEOPLE shortly after.
“The FBI is not aware of any continued communication between the Guthrie family and suspected kidnappers,” said FBI Phoenix Spokesperson Connor Hagan, per Monday’s statement.
On Feb. 6, the sheriff’s office and FBI announced that they had become aware of a “new message” regarding Nancy that was sent to Tucson-based outlet KOLD News/News 13.
Investigators were trying to determine whether it was sent from the same person or people who sent the first ransom note.
