Tiger Woods is going far away to get treatment after his recent DUI arrest — the golf superstar was granted approval to travel out of the country to receive care … citing privacy as the main reason.
TMZ Sports has obtained the filing made by attorney Douglas Duncan … which states Tiger was looking to leave America to “begin comprehensive inpatient treatment.”

“Based upon the Defendant’s treating physician, the out of country treatment facility recommendation is based upon the Defendant’s complex clinical presentation and the urgent need for a level of care that cannot safely or effectively be done within the United States, as his privacy has been repeatedly compromised.”
Duncan claimed exposure to the public would cause major rifts in his care … and could even “result in setbacks and an inability to fully engage in treatment.”

Despite getting outta the U.S., Tiger’s team promises he will be ready and present for any future court dates. As of right now, the next date in his case is slated for May … but he has waived his appearance at preliminary hearings prior to the trial.
As we reported, a judge signed off on the request … so it’s time for Tiger to pack his bags.
