Savannah Guthrie returns to TODAY show for first time since mom Nancy’s disappearance
Savannah Guthrie returned to the Today Show studio for the first time since her mom Nancy was abducted from her home more than a month ago.
The host was seen in images first revealed by TMZ hugging staff and crew at the studio in Manhattan, New York City on Thursday morning.
Savannah appeared emotional in footage of the reunion, and she was seen embracing colleagues and making a speech to the studio staff.
In a statement to the Daily Mail, NBC said Savannah returned to say thank you to her colleagues for supporting her through her mother’s heartbreaking disappearance, which remains unsolved.
The studio said in the statement that Savannah plans to eventually return to the air, but her visit on Thursday was ‘to be with and thank her TODAY colleagues.’
‘While she plans to return to the show on air, she remains focused right now supporting her family and working to help bring Nancy home,’ the studio said.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos spoke with NBC’s Liz Kreutz on March 3, and said that investigators are “definitely closer” to identifying and locating a suspect or suspects. During the conversation, which aired on the Today show, Nanos said authorities have “got a lot of intel, a lot of leads, but now it’s time to just go to work.”
The Guthrie family has increased the reward to $1 million for any information that leads to Nancy’s recovery or the arrest of a suspect. On Feb. 27, Savannah boosted the FBI’s tip line on her Instagram account, hoping for it to “be the one that brings her home.”
“Still here hoping,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories.
